Wind Data

The map displays the ten-minute average wind direction and speed in meters per second from the Finnish Meteorological Institute's observation stations. Wind data is retrieved within a few hundred kilometers radius from the center of the map view.

The wind data from the two nearest wind stations is also shown on the map view. The closer station is displayed in a slightly darker color and the farther station in a lighter color.

When making an observation entry, the current data from the two nearest wind stations to the observation location is saved as part of the observation.
