Centering, Rotating, and Navigation Mode of the Map¶
For field use, the map can be set to automatically follow your location. There are three modes for location tracking: free mode , centering mode , and navigation mode .
In centering mode , the map is centered on the current location. The map can also be manually rotated.
In navigation mode ,
the map is rotated according to the direction provided by the GPS, and the map is centered so that more of the map is shown in the direction of travel. When stationary, the map is rotated according to the compass; when moving fast enough, the actual direction of travel provided by the GPS is used.
